1. Scope
This policy applies when you create an account, post or accept a job, communicate through the platform, pay an invoice, receive a payout, contact support, visit our website, or otherwise use Joe's Odd Jobs Services. In this policy, a client is a person requesting work and a worker is a person applying for or completing work through the platform.
By using the service, you acknowledge that we will handle information as described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we collect:
- Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, account identifiers, profile details, login or verification information, preferences, and support requests.
- User content: job descriptions, instructions, photos, videos, profile photos, messages, attachments, reviews, and other information you submit.
- Job and marketplace activity: requested dates and times, job status, worker assignments, accepted jobs, completion and cancellation activity, ratings, reviews, and related records.
- Location-related information: client-entered job addresses, worker base areas or travel radiuses, coordinates produced from addresses, distance estimates, and map-related information.
- Transaction information: invoice and payout status, limited Stripe identifiers, charges, tips, fees, refunds, chargebacks, transfers, reminders, and timestamps. We do not store full payment card or bank account numbers on our servers.
- Communications and technical records: message delivery status, call metadata, device push tokens, notification and SMS preferences, timestamps, basic device or app records, support notes, and safety, fraud, restriction, or policy-review records.
3. Client-specific information
If you use the service as a client, we collect the information needed to create and manage your account, post and display jobs, schedule work, match workers, provide directions, coordinate through messages or calls, process invoices and tips, send reminders, provide support, review disputes, and keep business records.
Client information may include job addresses, requested timing, job descriptions, instructions, job photos, worker assignment records, invoice status, payment metadata, tip amounts, communication preferences, and related account or job activity.
4. Worker-specific information
If you use the service as a worker, we collect the information needed to review applications, verify eligibility, manage worker profiles, match nearby jobs, coordinate work, track job status, calculate payouts, provide support, maintain safety, and enforce platform rules.
Worker information may include profile photos, school and education information, school ID images, intro videos, availability, job preferences, travel radius or base area, approval status, internal approval or restriction notes, jobs viewed or accepted, start and completion activity, completed-job counts, ratings, reviews, payout status, and related records.
School ID images, intro videos, and internal application materials are used for platform review. They are not normally shown to clients, but authorized Joe's Odd Jobs staff, managers, service providers, or legal and safety reviewers may access them when needed to operate, secure, review, or protect the service.
5. Location and address information
Clients provide job addresses for requested work. Workers may provide a base area, travel radius, or similar location preference. We may convert addresses into coordinates or map-related information to estimate distance, match jobs with workers, show job locations, provide directions, coordinate work, and support safety reviews.
Joe's Odd Jobs Services does not continuously track client or worker GPS location in the background. If a future feature requests device location access, we will use the device permission flow and provide any additional notice required by law or app-store rules.
6. Job content, messages, attachments, and calls
We collect job details, photos, videos, messages, attachments, read or delivery status, participants, job references, and timestamps so we can display content, coordinate jobs, send notifications, provide support, process transactions, investigate safety or policy issues, and maintain records.
Please do not upload unnecessary sensitive information, private documents, unrelated photos, or information about another person unless it is needed for the job.
For in-app calls, we may store metadata such as participants, conversation or job references, call status, room identifiers, and timing records. We do not use in-app calls to exchange personal phone numbers, and we do not record or transcribe calls unless we separately disclose that practice.
7. Payments and payouts
We use Stripe to process client payments and worker payouts. Stripe may collect and store payment card, billing, identity, tax, banking, verification, and payout information under Stripe's own privacy practices. Joe's Odd Jobs Services does not store full payment card or bank account numbers on its servers.
We retain limited transaction metadata needed for billing, payouts, support, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, disputes, safety review, and legal compliance. This can include Stripe customer, payment, or connected-account identifiers; invoice, charge, transfer, and payout status; tips and fees; refunds and chargebacks; failed or delayed transaction records; and timestamps.
8. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, verify, maintain, and secure accounts.
- Review worker applications and manage worker eligibility.
- Post, display, match, schedule, coordinate, and complete jobs.
- Enable messages, calls, notifications, directions, ratings, and reviews.
- Process invoices, payments, tips, fees, refunds, transfers, and payouts.
- Provide support, resolve disputes, investigate safety or policy concerns, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements.
- Maintain business records, improve service performance, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations.
- Send marketing communications where permitted by law and subject to the choices described below.
10. What clients and workers can see
Information shared with workers
Workers may receive the client and job information needed to review, accept, coordinate, and complete work, such as a client's first name or display information, job type, description, requested timing, photos, instructions, messages, and the job address or location needed to arrive and perform the job. Workers do not receive full payment-card details from Joe's Odd Jobs Services.
Information shared with clients
Clients may see worker information needed for coordination and trust, such as a worker's first name or display name, profile photo, messages, job-status activity, ratings, reviews, and limited information needed for an accepted job. Clients do not normally see a worker's phone number, email address, exact home address, school ID image, intro video, full Stripe payout or tax details, or internal approval and restriction notes.
As part of normal in-app coordination, Joe's Odd Jobs Services does not share a client's or worker's personal phone number or email address with the other party. Users should communicate and pay through the platform.
11. Communications and marketing choices
We may contact you by in-app message, push notification, SMS, email, phone, or another contact method on file for account access, verification, job opportunities, scheduling, job updates, invoices, payment or payout reminders, safety notices, support, policy updates, and other operational reasons.
Where permitted by law, we may also send promotional communications. You may opt out through an unsubscribe link, an applicable SMS opt-out keyword, supported app settings, or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop operational messages needed to provide the service.
12. Cookies, analytics, and technical information
We may use basic technical information to keep the app and website working, maintain security, diagnose issues, deliver updates, prevent abuse, and understand service performance. The current service is not designed to sell personal information or share it with advertising networks for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If we add analytics, advertising, or tracking practices that materially change how personal information is used or shared, we will update this policy and provide any notice or consent required by law or app-store rules.
13. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain accounts, review worker applications, complete jobs, process payments and payouts, provide support, resolve disputes, protect safety, prevent fraud, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, reporting, and recordkeeping obligations.
Jobs, transactions, tax records, verification materials, safety records, restrictions, disputes, backups, and legal obligations may outlast an active account. Account deletion therefore may not remove every record immediately. We may retain or de-identify records where permitted or required by law and delete or de-identify them when the applicable retention need ends.
14. Account deletion and privacy requests
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or another action regarding your personal information by emailing hello@joesoddjobs.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may also use account controls available in the app. Deletion requests remain subject to the retention needs described above, including payment, payout, tax, accounting, verification, safety, fraud, restriction, dispute, backup, and legal recordkeeping requirements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No app, website, database, payment or payout system, file-storage system, or communication method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, using the service appropriately, and promptly contacting us if you believe your account or information has been misused.
16. Eligibility and minors
Client accounts are intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Worker accounts are intended for users who are at least 16 years old. Workers under 18 should use the service only with any parent or guardian consent, working papers, permits, or other legal authorization required where they live or work.
We do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected information from a child in a way that is not permitted, we will take appropriate steps to delete or restrict it.
17. State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, information about use or sharing, opt-out of certain uses or disclosures, limits on certain sensitive-information uses, or non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
Joe's Odd Jobs Services does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To submit a privacy request, email hello@joesoddjobs.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.
18. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our service, business practices, legal requirements, safety rules, or user protections. We may notify you of material changes through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method. Where required, we may ask you to accept an updated policy before continuing to use certain features.
